MOLEKUR™ Pro
MOLEKUR™ Pro multi-layer aligner film is a multi-layer dental film made of medical polymer materials. Its structure ensures moderate hardness, high elastic recovery, excellent durability and wearing comfort. MOLEKUR™ Pro has several variants to meet various clinical needs. More cost-effective compared to other multi-layer films on the market.

A new generation material
Could there be a material flexible enough to reduce the initial aligner insertion force required to insert an aligner, increasing patient comfort, and at the same time provide significantly better tooth movement force during an alignment session?
Could the material resist deformation and also be highly stain resistant?
Could a material do this while being equally strong, effective, and safe?
An extensive research and development program showed that no single material could deliver this leap in performance and durability. So we found a way to combine high-performance materials using a two-layer structure.
-
Better force retention
Force retention comparison in water environment at 37℃ (initial value at 100%)
After 24 hours in water, the MOLEKUR™ Pro series has over 65% of its original strength remaining, greater than single-layer films.
-
Low and durable orthodontic force
Force retention comparison in water environment at 37℃ (initial value at 100%)
In a 37℃ water environment, the MOLEKUR™ Pro series has a lower force than other single-layer films and can continuously deliver sufficient orthodontic force to achieve the desired tooth movement.

Outstanding adhesion between layers
The MOLEKUR™ Pro series is manufactured using our special techniques and equipment. This in-house developed process ensures greater adhesion between layers, and thus greater stability and durability during wear.

Excellent elastic resistance
The MOLEKUR™ Pro series has better elastic resistance than single-layer films.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Molekur Pro
MOLEKUR™ Pro is specifically designed for the manufacture of clear braces and is now widely considered to be the best commercially available material for braces. A flexible yet highly elastic and crack-resistant material, MOLEKUR™ Pro has a unique three-layer construction, with an elastomeric inner layer encased in a tough, durable outer shell. That tough outer shell is the secret to MOLEKUR™ Pro’s amazing elasticity and its ability to adhere to teeth to help perform difficult tooth movements such as rotation, extrusion and intrusion.
Compared to competing materials, MOLEKUR™ Pro offers up to 150% greater tooth movement force within 7-10 days and 40% lower insertion force, significantly improving patient comfort.
Why is polyurethane (TPU) better than polyester (PETG) for making orthodontic thermoplastic materials?
Polyurethane is significantly more elastic, flexible, and crack-resistant than polyester. It is also significantly more expensive. A pound of polyurethane resin that we developed and use in the manufacture of MOLEKUR™ Pro materials costs approximately $18.00, while a pound of polyester resin used by other material suppliers to manufacture competing orthodontic materials costs only about $1.00.
Polyester is also much easier to work with. That's why all of the materials from material suppliers like Essix/Densply, Henry Schein, and Keystone are made from PETG. The PETG they use is a commodity resin and is the same base resin used to make Coca-Cola and Pepsi plastic bottles.
What orthodontic appliances can be manufactured with Molekur Pro?
MOLEKUR™ Pro is the well-established gold standard for retention materials due to its exceptional crack resistance and overall durability. It is also used for aligners (commonly used in multi-thickness aligner systems), for “final” aligners in later stages, and for specialty appliances such as retainers.
How long should a MOLEKUR™ Pro brace last?
A properly made and cared for MOLEKUR™ Pro brace should last between 1 and 5 years. Many of our Pro customers have told us that many of their patients who use braces made from MOLEKUR™ Pro have told them that their braces still work as well as the day they were made, even 5 years after they were made.
